HOW I EDIT MY PHOTOS

How I take my photos: I take my photos mainly using my iPhone or a DSLR camera.

Editing: VSCO, PicsArt, and FaceTune

FaceTune: I only use this app when people are in the photo. While this app is controversial due to the amount of people using it to change their entire appearance, I think minor touch-ups can really make a picture better. I like to use the smooth feature to reduce blemishes or anything you want to cover.

VSCO: This is the app I use to filter photos. I don’t have a theme for my photos, mainly because I don’t post my photos on instagram. However, the way I edit is different for each photo, but this is basic idea. First I chose the filter that works best with the photo. Usually I use C8, HB2, A6, or A7. I then lower the filter to about a 7 or an 8. After I have the filter on, I like to play with the exposure and contrast. If the photo is dark, I will bring the exposure up and vice versa. Using the temperature feature and grain helps with matching the aesthetic that you want.

PicsArt: When I want to layer images on top of each other, draw on the photo, or make collages, this app is my favorite. Once you have your selected photo, you can go to the add photo option to layer on top. on this feature you can change the opacity and blend the photos into each other, or you can leave it be.

Hope this helps.
